Real-Time Accident Response System
Overview
An IoT-based edge AI system that detects motorcycle crashes using sensor data and sends immediate GPS alerts via GSM, operating independently of smartphones.
The Challenge
Motorcyclists in remote areas are vulnerable if they crash alone. Smartphones aren't always reliable during impact. A standalone, rugged solution was needed.
The Solution
We trained a CNN Autoencoder on IMU sensor data to distinguish crashes from normal bumps. The system runs on embedded hardware and uses a GSM module to send coordinates directly to emergency contacts.
